The Scubaqua team is fond of diving and looks forward to showing you the fantastic dive sites and island beauties of St. Eustatius.

 

Ingrid and Menno

Ingrid and Menno

Ingrid is Swiss with Swedish roots and Menno is both Swiss and Dutch.

Ingrid is a CMAS M2 instructor and PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer. After a few years of diving in the Swiss lakes, she has decided with her husband to exchange drysuit and 15l tank to a 3 mm wetsuit and 12l tank in St. Eustatius !

What she prefers in life : to live for the moment with people she likes and play with her son Enzo !
What she dislikes in life : treachery, dishonesty and a bad meal...
Best memory of diving in St. Eustatius : the discovery of a nest of juveniles drum fish of a few mm !

Menno is a staff instructor CMAS.CH and PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer. He managed a dive shop and dive school for 10 years in Switzerland and decided to take the plunge to move to St. Eustatius !

What he prefers in life : to share good moments and new experiences
What he dislikes in life : lack of enthusiasm
Best memory of diving in St. Eustatius : the discovery of the Charles Brown, an impressive wreck.

Marieke & Mike

Marieke and Mike

Marieke and Mike are both Dutch.

Marieke is a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor. Together with Mike she dived in all corners of the world before she felt in love with St. Eustatius. If you are not sure if diving is your thing, she takes the challenge. Your big smile after you did it is rewarding enough for her.

What she prefers in life: meeting old and new friends, cats and shoes ;-)
What she dislikes in life: slow internet and people who are not straight forward.
Best memory of diving in St. Eustatius: finding her first Seahorse.

Mike is a PADI Course Director, DAN Instructor Trainer, co-author of the book Scubasigns (do ask for a signed copy ;-) and co-founder of the Scubasigns Foundation www.scubasigns.org After training instructors in a big dive center for years he started missing small scale personal diving like Scubaqua offers. His big passion is underwater photography and he is always in to discover new dive sites.

What he dislikes in life: arrogance and discrimination.
Best memory of diving in St. Eustatius: the 45 minutes encounter with a green turtle which must have thought he was her partner.

Caroline

Caroline

Caroline is Swiss. She is a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor. She will take good care of you : she's also a nurse!

What she prefers in life : sun and heat, share good moments with her husband and her friends, and of course scuba diving and sharing the underwater wonders with other divers
What she dislikes in life : to have cold hands and feet
Best memory of diving in St. Eustatius : the fantastic dance of dolphins during a few minutes while snorkelling!

Eduard

Eduard  

Eduard is a PADI Open Water Instructor
He started diving in the Dutch lakes, but soon after that he wants to explore the warmer waters in the world. First he moved to the remote Cook islands to work as a Divemaster. After this adventure he moved to Vanuatu and Egypt before he became an Instructor in the Maldives. When he find out we had a job offer he didn’t hesitate. Statia’s Caribbean atmosphere and the unexplored dive sites draw Edward to our island.

What he likes in live: long (nitrox) dives
What he dislikes in life: traffic jams under and above water
Best dive in Statia: the first Nurse Shark in my life on my first dive on Statia at Anchor Point
